Extraterritoriality

The Extraterritoriality tag covers articles addressing when privacy, data protection, AI, and technology laws apply beyond the territory of the jurisdiction that enacted them. Extraterritorial rules can extend legal obligations to organizations located elsewhere based on factors such as targeting individuals, offering goods or services, monitoring behavior, processing covered data, or placing regulated technologies or services in a particular market.
